Durian is scientifically known as Durio zibethinus, it has thorn like shell and yellow flesh inside which is eaten as the fruit, which is why it should be handled with care. Its smell is so repugnant that it is forbidden in public places and in public transport in many Southeast Asian countries.This fruit has a pungent smell, extremely nutritious, custard like flesh with sweet taste, Imported directly from Vietnam.
To check if the fruit is ripe, you can shake it and if the seed rattles it is ready to be eaten, otherwise leave it on room temperature to ripen up.
Do not refrigerate before it is ripe.
Peel open at the splitting seems. Be careful not to stab yourself with the sharp spikes.
Eat the creamy flesh.
