Beschreibung
Chickoo is scientifically known as Manilkara zapota, it is largely grown in Asian countries. This fruits has a brown skin with sweet juicy pulp on the inside and a brown seed, which is not edible. It is loaded with vitamin C, A and a lot of antioxidants.
This sapodilla fruit and other parts of sapota are used in the traditional medicine to treat coughs and colds; it also possesses diuretic, antidiarrheal, antibiotic, antihyperglycemic and hypercholesteraemic effects.

Usage

Ripening guide
- The soft ones are ripe and ready to be eaten or stored in refrigerater.
- Leave the hard ones on room temperature to ripen up.
- Wash and eat directly after slicing into two pieces.
- Peels are edible while seeds are not.
