Mung dal is considered tasty and very healthy because they are high in fiber and important proteins. It tastes very earthy an a bit bland, but overall gives a very pleasant taste. They are rich in nutrients and are among the best plant-based sources of protein. Beans are a staple food in India and Pakistan and thus play an important role in Indian cuisine. They need to be soaked in water for atleast 3-4 hours before cooking.
